What is ridesharing and how does it work?

Ridesharing is a great example of the sharing economy in action. It’s a service that matches drivers who use their personal vehicles with passengers who need a ride, quickly and easily through a GPS-based mobile app. Through the app, passengers know the driver’s name, car model, license plate number, and rating. They can also watch their driver’s progress towards the pickup point on their smartphone. Payment is handled automatically via a credit card stored within their account. Drivers have a flexible source of income based on a schedule of their choosing.

What is Kari?

Kari operates as an app-based marketplace that connects passengers with qualified drivers in real-time. From the moment a driver accepts a passenger request, passengers are able to track and contact the driver responsible for picking them up, all through their mobile device. This provides a convenient, inexpensive, and reliable alternative for customers who are reliant on other forms of public and private transportation.

What kid of proof of insurance is provided for Kari drivers?

If you’re a Kari driver, you can access an electronic certificate of automobile insurance through our Kari driver portal.

You must ensure that your personal auto policy allows for your vehicle to be used for ridesharing.
